We are in a situation that seem to have no happy ending. My mom-in-law passed away and father-in-law remarried 2 yrs after her passing. His 35 yr marriage with MIL was a happy one. The 2nd 8 yr marriage was done while his sons were overseas. We had the no opportunity to know her. Since we're back. We realize, she's selfcentred, unloving to our toddlers. FIL sold family home, it didn't have her name on it. They have bought another house which is suppose to be a holiday house for family members to use. Which they will be moving in. But they are spending lots of money doing a 2nd story self contain unit including a 2nd kitchen for their own use. She complains about cooking, & organising our family gatherings. But no grumbles using FIL/MIL hard earn money and expensive furniture. She organise chritsmas party with her side and we're uninvited.
She 10yrs younger than FIL (68yrs), unlike FIL&MIL, has no career, no tertiary education and a divorcée with 2 adults girls from previous marriage.
To respond to some of the questions. She has all the money as it is and MIL things. These are sentimental attachments to us, some are not worth any money. We are prepared to let her have everything 'inheritance'. If she'd show some affection and involvement toward our children. But we doubt that will happen. They are expose to her unaffectionate attitudes. Our children were born after MIL pass away. They aren't old enough to understand what death is.
FIL have realized that she actually do not think much of his family. She brings the worst in him also. She hardly helps him around the house. He does most of the shopping and cooking! Right now he is trying to keep the peace.

I am 39,my older sister is 41,younger one is 35.I'm a middle child and i am a sole parent with a 7 year old daughter, younger sis is married doesn't work and is a stay at home mum to 3 kids.Older one is gay has a girlfriend and 2 sperm donored kids.My parents passed away,my mum passed away 10 years ago from breast cancer. my mum didn't tell us she had terminal cancer and said she had treatment that cured it.She had to go in hospital for last 4 months but i had to get it out of the doctor that she wasn't getting better.I went to the hospital to visit my mum everyday, bought her stuff from her home, clothes, bought homemade food that she asked me to cook for her and did this for months. My younger sister was in another city and only visited once and only as her husband was driving thru to go on a holiday together.I were exhausted and had already booked a 3 week holiday overseas before my mum went to hospital,my older sister went on hols while my mum was in hospital and when she got back i spoke to the Doctor and he said go,she will probably have at least 6 months left.As my mum had asked me to come move in with her at home so she would have someone to look after her i knew i needed a break first so off i went on holiday for 3 weeks and called my sister everyday to see mum was ok.They said she was going very well.! week later i got a message to call my sister so i did and found out my mum had died and her funeral was in 48 hours time,i called every airline inc 1st class but nothing could get me back home to the afternoon of the funeral.my sisters said too bad its going ahead as people were already travelling to our hometown. My friends who attended told me at the wake my sisters were telling everyone that i couldn't be bothered coming back and a lot of other very nasty thingsand we didn;t talk fot 2 years .Before my mum died i were working 2 jobs for 3 years to get a home deposit. When my older sister got the cheques sent to them from my mums estate that the 2 of them agreed to sell family home they knew i had put a deposit for a home and i needed the cheques to help me on settlement day.So when the younger 1 came over to pick up my mums silver cutlery she told me i had to go to my sisters home as the cheque is on her table waiting for me to fetch it although she slept there the night before. My sisters speak to me but things are a bit tense as people still tell me that they bitch about things behind my back and since i am working hard as a single mum and are sending my daughter to the beest school in my city my 2 sisters did'nt for the 1st time call my daughter or send a card on her birthday which is the 1st time and now i'm thinking they are trying to get my nieces and nephews away from my daughter the way they are always gossiping behind my bac.I am so fed up with these sisters, but i don;t want to isolate my daughter from her cousins. But as long as could remember the 2 of them have behaved like cinderella's stepsisters,i am the blonde one in family and they are brunettes and people have said to me i am the prettiest.
